Kolter and His Three Families Tree

This is a really true story about Kolter’s childhood. It was very difficult because he was a terrible kid. When very young Kolter had 2 moms. One of them was the most wonderful person ever called Enaile and his other mother was a woman of few words and very peaceful mind called Pratibha. Before Kolter came to their house they had a perfect life. Everyday was a happy day and they never argue about anything. After the first day that Kolter enjoyed that family they never had a single minute of peace. No one could figure out what was wrong with him. His family went to several doctors looking for help. The doctors couldn’t do anything to help them, but they gave an advice that brought a light at the end of the tunnel. They told those 2 moms that Kolter was a lost case and’ for the sake of everybody, they should make Kolter “to meet God”. After Pratibha heard those words she became speechless and Enaile right away ordered a casket, but as soon as she knew that the doctors weren’t saying that literally, she canceled it.

Next day Enaile dropped Kolter off at the church then she went to work. Few minutes later, she arrived at her work and she had received dozens of phone calls from the church. Enaile had a golden heart, she thought that Kolter had an emergency. She went as fast as possible to save her beloved son from the danger. On the way to the church she called Pratibha to meet her at the church, but Pratibha already was there and once more she was wordless. When Enaile arrived she found out that Kolter was the emergency. He was speaking horrible things out loud. The priest told them that Kolter was against Jesus’ words. Kolter didn’t want to accept that Jesus’ love is real, that Jesus loves everyone. Enaile and Pratibha went home very embarrassed by Kolter’s behavior, but not before they heard from someone in there that Kolter had the dirtiest mouth of all time.

At home they began an important conversation. They asked Kolter why he was saying bad words at church and why he had those bad feelings about Jesus. His lies began when that dreadful boy said that his sister Melissa hit him, and the priest was drunk and doing inappropriate things with him. It seemed like that kid came from a very dark place because he did so many bad things that Enaile lost her patience and revealed the truth about his past. When that insolent kid tried to explain himself by pointing the finger at his mom, she had no alternative left. She made it clear that he wasn’t her real son. Enaile told Kolter that his real family left him in the trash. He was among cats when they found him. Enaile opened her arms to Kolter, she desired to forgive him. She wanted a fresh start, but he refused that. He joked that he would prefer to live with cats.

Enaile was concerned about his future. She didn’t want him to end up in jail, but Kolter told his mom off when he said that she once was in jail. Those words broke her fragile heart, but what that spoiled kid didn’t know was that she went to jail to protect him. She took all the responsibility for his bad action. She was such a brave woman, because when you are so religious as she was being accused of a minor thing is like the death. Imagine getting the blame for all Kolter’s crimes. Pratibha finally broke her silence and said to that mean child to just keep quiet. As he final act he tried to separate that family. Everything that he touched he ruined it. He always was trouble at school. He made fun of his saint brother. Kolter almost made his mom beating him, but she knew about his plans to keep her away. Putting her behind bars it would be very easy to him destroy the members of the family that remains. Kolter was kicked out of that family, and they became free of that cursed boy.

Kolter’s second family was once again consisting of two wonderful people. One of his mothers, was the hard working Amphone and his other mom was the sweet Rose. Kolter had the opportunity to restart his life. He was living in a big house having everything that money could buy and for the second time receiving unconditional love, but it wasn’t enough for Kolter. He always wanted more and because of that he couldn’t keep his mask of good son for too long. He needed to find out what his moms had that most precious. In few weeks he figured out that they loved their house. They spent many hours cleaning and buying new things to decorate their little palace. That was their mistake, they loved something else than Kolter and he couldn’t take it.

After a long day of work Rose and Amphone went home. On their way to their house they started to plan what they should do in the evening. They agreed that they should have a cookout by their ginormous swimming pool with their amazing son. They couldn’t wait to go home because they had a surprise for him. They had bought a Jet Ski for Kolter to play in the pool. When they were getting closer to the house they saw a huge smoke covering the sky. Few miles later, they had the worse news of their lives. Their beautiful house was burning. Amphone and Rose were shocked and very worried about their golden boy that was how they called Kolter. They really thought that Kolter was a blessing in their lives until they talked to the police.

Kolter began another crucial conversation in his life. Amphone and Rose told him that they knew that he was responsible for the fire and ask why he did it. Kolter, the liar, said that he tried to cook dinner for his mom. He wanted to make a barbecue, but he ended burning down the house. Amphone told him that barbecue should not be prepared inside of the house. Kolter was acting as a stupid kid and said that she never told him that. Kolter started to make fun of Rose. He was pretending that he couldn’t listen to her. Rose repeated several times that he should listen to his mom and he was continuing to make fun of her. After she realized that he was being disrespectful, she wanted to be sure that he wouldn’t repeat his behavior. Therefore she made Kolter to feel the weight of her hand on his ears for never again he pretend that he can’t listen to her.

Kolter explained that he was cooking the barbecue for her anniversary in the fireplace. Amphone, such a great mother after everything that Kolter had done, still worried about his sake. She asked him why he was so dirt. Amphone advised him to take a shower. He made fun of her reminding she that he couldn’t take any shower because there wasn’t a house anymore. After they realized that they were homeless because of what this little monster did. Kolter was not longer welcome. Unbelievable Kolter had achieved his purpose, he had destroyed the whole house, but he was trying to be among them.

Amphone said they were homeless and Kolter should go, but he wanted to know where they were going to live in. He wasn’t ready to give up on that family. Amphone made it clear that she wasn’t able to take care of him. Kolter tried to change their decision by repeatedly saying that he was their son. Kolter was being so tough on Amphone that came out her desire to go to a cousin’s house. But Kolter needed to know which one and smart Amphone confused Kolter by saying that she would be at her brother’s house. Kolter had burned down the house. It meant that he had ruined another family, but he didn’t want to leave them. What they had that could be valuable for Kolter? Kolter didn’t wait any longer and he asked if they had insurance on the house. They confirmed to Kolter that they would receive lots of money. And as a Phoenix, they would rise from their ashes and start over. But first they must kick him out of their lives.

Kolter, the parasite, needed to find another family that he could lean on. Kolter knew that he could not fool women, so he desperately needed to find a man. Kolter sought for a naive man and evidently it was impossible to find because there was no such thing. So, he looked for someone who would never suspect that his intentions. Kolter’s search for a dad didn’t last longer because he got a big list of candidates to choose from. Kolter wasn’t happy with those men, to tell the truth he was scared to death by them. It seemed that they wanted to be more than a father should be, by using M. Jackson’s method on how-to-deal-with-a-kid’s-fear-of-darkness. It encouraged children to go to bed with adults instead of to turn a light on during the night. Kolter crossed out all those names and wished that he had been a good son for his moms.

Kolter was living by himself on the streets. People could not give him any change because, after just one day, he stank so much that no one would dare to come closer. After a couple days of hunger Kolter had lost his mind. He was uncontrolled and he moved forward to a giant and juicy orange, but the fruit screamed while Kolter tasted it. That fruit appeared to be a monk. He was the perfect father for Kolter. Kolter began his role of a poor little orphan and a good soul called Phonesay decided to be Kolter’s father.

While Phonesay was looking after Kolter, he was teaching him, too. Phonesay was being very clear that Kolter just needed to learn one basic thing. It was always stick with the truth. He used to say that the medicine against evil is to be loyal to yourself. Since Kolter harassed Phonesay to live with him he was taught that there aren’t reasons to lie. Phonesay was very proud of Kolter. So far their relationship was full of harmony. Until the day that Kolter’s teacher called. He told Phonesay that yesterday Kolter missed school. Phonesay was very unhappy not only because his son took the day off from school, but also because Kolter said in the past week that he would study hard to be graded as a C student and no more as an F student. Phonesay waited for Kolter to come home to have a tough conversation with him. When Kolter went into the living room he knew that he was in hot water.

Phonesay said to Kolter that he was lying about being at school on the day before. When Kolter denied the information, he lied again. Successively, Kolter continued to lie for his father. Kolter said that the teacher was lying, because he went to school. Kolter was a hypocrite about everything. Like when he said that he wanted to save the world, but he was a litterer and he lied about it, too. Kolter told Phonesay that he was at school. He spent all day in the bathroom.

Kolter, the malign, tried to hurt Phonesay’s feelings by saying that he was absent at the class because the night before Phonesay had cooked dinner and it wasn’t good. The problem wasn’t the food because it was good. The problem was Kolter ate too much and because of that he was absent from school. Phonesay said good food, and Kolter said bad food. It’s hard to know whom to believe. To trust the good heart Phonesay or to believe on that little dirty mouth, arsonist, and liar?

Kolter was annoying his father. He was saying that again it was Phonesay’s fault because he cooked bad food. Phonesay said that he ate the same food and he hadn’t had any problems with it. It meant that the food was good and Kolter was the problem. Kolter said that his father was a bad cook. Kolter was being very disrespectful with his father. Kolter did it before with his other parents because they made the same mistake that Phonesay to care about him. He joked about Phonesay’s appearance. Kolter said that the food made his father a sick man because he hadn’t hair. Phonesay explained that he had not hair because he liked his style and it was a smart thing if you often cook because there will be no worries about a fallen hair on the food.

Phonesay said to Kolter not to lie again and when he goes to school he should study and not to be on the toilet. Kolter said that he was on the toilet because he was sick, and Phonesay said when you were sick you have to give me a call to be picking up. Then you could stay at home, recovering from it. Kolter said that if he didn’t go to school Phonesay would beat him. Phonesay said that it wasn’t true because he only would beat if Kolter didn’t want to go to school, but not if Kolter had a stomachache. Kolter pretending to be the victim said, “I’m scared of you, daddy!” and Phonesay replied, “You scare me!”

Kolter told his dad that he didn’t lie. He told him that he attended school, but he left out that he wasn’t in class. However, Phonesay told him that the teacher had called him, and while Phonesay was speaking, a witness appeared in that house to ratify that Kolter wasn’t at school and he was lying. Repeatedly, Kolter said that he was sick because the food didn’t taste good. He said that Phonesay didn’t have any problem with it because he was spitting out the food. Phonesay said that he didn’t spit out the food, but Kolter said that he didn’t remember that because he was drunk. It was another of Kolter’s hideous lies because Phonesay didn’t drink.

The truth was Kolter was the drunken one. Kolter has been drinking beer since he was an infant. And he didn’t want to face his problems with alcohol. He called his dad a liar and a crazy. Kolter was also delusional because he was under the effect of alcohol. He thought that his father was beating him and he wanted to call the police. He even faked a broken arm, but Phonesay still wanted to take care of him. He took little Kolter to a rehabilitation center. At the rehab Kolter was having a hard time, but Kolter was blessed because everything could be worse if he was like his hero Pinocchio. That would be harder for Kolter to explain why his nose grows while he is speaking.

P.S. Pinocchio’s father was the luckiest parent ever because he could easily identify when his son was lying. And in the winter if he needed to he could use his liar son to heat the house.

Seasons in My Country

Hi!

I will tell you about the spring in Brazil. The spring in Brazil is just in September, here in U.S, it is fall because in Brazil the seasons are the opposite of U.S. When,it is summer here, it is winter there, when it is fall here it is spring there. This happens because when you look at the world map,you see that Brazil is in the South and U.S is in the North.
Spring in Brazil is very interesting, because it has many different colors of green. Many kinds of trees, plants, flowers, animals, and each state in Brazil has different vegetation. But the normal weather in Brazil is summer, about 8 monthsof the year.

That’s it!

A Japense Spring Event

We have a bloom-gazing event in Japan. Cherry blossom, which symbolize the arrival of spring, are usually in full bloom in March and April, the season varies slightly from year to year. Although flours usually refers to any kind of flowers, cherry blossom event is where some people just go walking in parks with cherry blossoms, others hold parties under cherry trees with friends, co-worker, or family. They eat picnic lunches and drink alcohol. Many popular spots light up the trees at night, so people can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night too.

The Countryside

I have one friend in the Laos countryside. His name is Mr. Thongle. He wasn’t working in a business. He was a farmer and planted rice. Every year the rain wasn’t good. He has thress children: one son, two daughters, but his wife was sick all the time. She just stayed home and took care of the children. It was a problem for her. They have no money. Medicine is expensive, and his house was broken. When it rained, the floor got wet. There wasn’t enough food to eat. There was a drought. Actually, he woke up early to go fishing and went back almost sunset. The time was running real fast. When the couple was growing up, they could help Thongle. After that, his wife was healed, she was feeling healthy. Thongle was building a new house. He saved the rice all year. Finally, they have a warm heart and love their family.

The Weather

The first day we came to the U.S.A., we took off in an airplane. We aw a lot of snow. It was very cold. I have never seen snow since I was born. “It was wonderful,” my uncle said, “he U.S.A. has four seasons: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall.” It was different from our country, which has two seasons: Summer and Fall. We can go everywhere. In the wintertime, we have to pay the gas bill. It’s hard to go outside. I thought the City took care of the roads better than in the past.

Kolter and The Junkyard

This is a true story. Kolter was living in his ‘beautiful’ home. It had a huge green area. It was the part of the house that he never worked on. He never cut the lawn or picked up the fallen leaves. The only thing that he did there was putting a strong fence around of his property to protect it against small invaders. To protect against people Kolter had decided to put everything that he had in his storage place in there. It turned his backyard into a storage place once again Kolter saved money. Kolter threw all his precious memories there. Everything that he had collected for so many years was now lying in his lawn.

Kolter was happy to be able to make a good use of his place. Many of his neighbors weren’t so happy. They didn’t like to live close to a junkyard. But, some of them liked it a lot, because they didn’t need to pay someone to carry away their junks. They just needed to wait getting dark to throw their goods in there. Every morning Kolter was checking if he had received any gifts from the sky. This was how Kolter had furnished his house. Since his backyard became a junkyard he didn’t have to buy not even one appliance for his house.

Weekends were thrilling for Kolter because, that was the period for the garage sales happen. He couldn’t wait for the next day to see if he was lucky. But, his payday happened when a neighbor needed to move out and decided put everything for sale. Everyone was sad, because the greatest neighbor ever was moving to a retirement home. But all of them including Kolter were excited about that huge sale. That man had all kind of fancy things. He always looked for quality it didn’t matter how expensive it was.

Kolter was a step ahead of his neighbors. Kolter had a secret weapon on his hands, literally! He had a spy, someone really small who could easily have access to confidential information about that sale. Kolter gave a mission to George. He had to check how much that giant plasma TV would be sold for. Kolter planned to go early in the morning and to take home that precious thing. But he needed to know, if he could afford it. George, the brave, took that mission seriously. He packed a bag to be ready for any situation.

George went to the house. His first step was to avoid the stinky cat that lives over there. George used all the science in his favor to make the cat go to a cage by chasing a tuna fish sandwich. The perimeter is clear said George to Kolter in the other line of the walkie-talkie. The walkie-talkies were two tin cans attached to each other with a string and they had a picture of little bunny Foo Foo on. George reached the TV room. Then he wrote down the price. George was ready to leave the house, but before he did a quickly visit to the kitchen. ‘Oh my God!’ George said when he crossed that place. ‘Am I dead? Is this the paradise?’ thought George. He couldn’t believe that man had all kinds of cheese. George left the house, after he realized all his wildest dreams with cheese.

Kolter was very worried about the amount needed to buy the TV. Kolter was saying over and over that the amount must be unbelievable to keep George silent for so many hours. Kolter was hopeless when he went to bed. In the afternoon when Kolter woke up, he didn’t trust his eyes. George was the size of a St. Bernard dog. George was barely breathing, but he had a huge smile on his furred face, but not bigger than the one on Kolter’s face when he looked into his backyard. Everything inside of that neighbor’s house was placed on Kolter’s property.

Kolter went to check with the neighbors about what happened. No one was sure what really happened. They just knew that the nice man had lost his mind. He was completely nuts. He was talking about a talkative monster, which he called a cheese eater. He was completely disturbed. Nobody understood how that gentleman could be such a freak. People said that he kept his cat in a cage and he did weird things with cheese. So that explained why all that free stuff was doing on Kolter’s backyard. The sale was cancelled because no one wanted to own anything from that bizarre guy. Kolter didn’t say a word. He knew there was something wrong, but he wasn’t sure what part of that story had George’s paw on it.

Kolter wanted to talk with George before he went to deal with the authorities. He waited for George to wake up. But after 2 days, he used a hose to wake George up. Kolter interrogated him looking for the truth. To every question that Kolter asked George had a similar response, e.g. I’m not sure! I don’t remember! Could you be more specific? Can you repeat the question? I don’t know what are you talking about! George was almost asking for a lawyer when he suddenly answered the following questions with, Who are you? Who is George? What is cheese? After those clearly signs of amnesia, Kolter couldn’t turn George in. Kolter knew that if his friend was like that, it was his responsibility. He shouldn’t ask him to break into that man’s house.

But Kolter knew too that he needed to take advantage of George’s faking amnesia. At least for once, it wasn’t entirely Kolter’s fault. And it doesn’t matter what will take. George will confess everything. It’s just a question of time. Because Kolter was ready to make George’s life like hell if he needs to. To begin with, he told George about his allergic problem. George cannot eat any cheese or foods with cheese flavor. There will be no free time for George because he is going to be told that he loves to work 24/7. Now it is Kolter’s turn to teach him a lesson. He will teach George that the amnesia excuse can only be used in extreme situations.

Kolter and Family Is For Good

kolter-and-bag2.jpg

This is a true story. In April, a downpour was falling and Kolter, all day long, was sitting on his couch watching it. As always Kolter was spending hours doing nothing at all, that is one of his specialties. He was so concentrated looking outside, that he didn’t notice when his friend George came into the living room. Kolter was shunning George because he was trying to escape from the monthly conversation about the chores around the house. Kolter had succeeded for 3 months in a row. He was so proud of himself, because to trick George was something very hard to do, and Kolter was doing it very well. Using all kinds of excuses he was avoiding that conversation. But sat on the couch Kolter was an easy prey. And George didn’t need to create any special situation to make Kolter listen to him. Because when George gets mad he shows his full wrath in a creative way to leave a mark in someone.

It’s unusual for George to be angry with someone but living with Kolter it is a daily thing. George always forgives Kolter’s faults because Kolter always comes up with some weird explanation for his actions. I think it was just one time when Kolter couldn’t explain himself. It was the day that George discovered how Kolter was doing the dishes. George knew that when Kolter did the dishes, he always could leave them filthier than before. But unexpectedly the dishes started to be really clean for the first time. They were shiny and so was the kitchen. It was unbelievable how Kolter did it. “It was a miracle?” thought George. He asked Kolter how he did it, and Kolter said that he always did a good job, but only now George had paid attention to it. George really wanted to trust in Kolter but his nature wouldn’t let him. He only knew Kolter for a short period of time but it was enough to know that something didn’t smell right.

One day George was hiding in the kitchen to see how Kolter was doing that miracle. George waited all day and nothing happened, but then George got tired and fell a sleep. When he woke up he had the worst nightmare ever. The kitchen was full of cats. George counted at least fifteen of them. They were licking every single spot of the kitchen including inside of the cabinets. It was gross for George to see those cats licking all the dishes. The cats were using their powerful tongues that worked as sandpaper, to take away all the duty off the plates and saucepans. “Gross! Gross! Gross!” thought George. Then it quickly came up to George’s mind that since the dishes had became to be “really clean” Kolter had started to use paper plates and only plastic cutlery. And Kolter just had eaten food that came from closed bags or from the refrigerator. After those big and scary creatures left the house George went to have a word with mister-clean.

After George said everything that Kolter needed to hear, he asked the question that was killing him inside: how did Kolter get all those felines work for him? Kolter froze for one second but then he decided no longer to be untruthful. Kolter said that he promised to feed his helpers and again he begged for George’s forgiveness. George looked into Kolter’s eyes and saw that he was being sincere. George went to bed very disappointed, but it wasn’t with Kolter who seemed to be a big kid with a marvelous heart. For Kolter, it would be impossible to do anything intentionally to hurt anyone. George was very disappointed with his family. Three weeks ago he was to have his birthday party. George had invited all his 613 closest relatives. But for some reason, not a single soul showed up at the party. George had the worst party of his entire life, especially sense he wanted to introduce Kolter to his family as his brother. George tried to find out what happened to his family, but he didn’t succeed. It seems like they had evaporated from Earth. Kolter gave George his support, this way one more reason for George to forget that disgusting thing with those cats.

After Kolter was sure that George was deeply sleeping, he went out to the alley next to the central bus station. Kolter was carrying some flowers, plastic ones, not because they are cheaper than live flowers, but because he found them on his away to the alley. Kolter kneeled down and he left the plastic flowers on the ground and said, “I promise I’ll take care of George. I’ll protect him with my own life!” Kolter yelled, “I’m so sorry! I gave my word and I must to keep it”. The lies began again. Perhaps Kolter had thought that there is some one watching, but soon he realized that there isn’t any audience there. He quickly stopped with his sorry speech. Kolter went down to the alley and grabbed a giant cloth bag. Kolter put it in his trunk and drove to a park on the opposite side of the city. There were dozen of cats ready to a party on that park. They were so excited to see Kolter. When the cats saw that huge bag they started to drool. They couldn’t wait to put their claws on the cheese lovers inside the bag. What happened there was a slaughter. There were no survivors. Next morning the news came up with the headline about the barbarity that happened in that park, there were dozens of cats that were torn to shred by some dogs that had escaped from a kennel. The weird thing was that those dogs escaped from a kennel on the other side of the city, and it seemed that they had some kind of help getting to that particular park. Kolter opened his giant cloth bag and took out George’s present. He put George’s present in chronological order in the living room. He was finishing up getting everything ready for George’s unforgettable birthday party. When George woke up and saw all his family. All the 613 members were there, in his living room.

All of them were dead, but it didn’t matter to George because he was happy to see them again. Kolter came clean, he told everything, and once more asked for forgiveness. Kolter was so desperate to have George’s approval that he wasn’t thinking of the consequences of his actions. George truly forgave Kolter, especially when Kolter came up with an idea that would forever bring George’s family more closely together than ever. Kolter said to George that they could use taxidermy on all his family in this way. He would always have his precious family close at hand, literally! Living side by side with Kolter really had changed George a lot because he promptly agreed and said, “That sounds good to me!” The following days were full of work and entertainment for both Kolter and George. After George respectfully stuffed his parents and grandparents, they started to play with all his family. First they took all the 603 rodents apart. After that they put the pieces in different boxes and as in a big puzzle they started to create new members of George’s family. Then they dressed them and finally they named them. They had a lot of much fun with those rodents, and when they finally finished, George was so touched by Kolter’s action that he said from the bottom of his heart, “Kolter, you gave me the best present ever. You brought all my family to live with me. Thank you so much! I wonder if one day I could ever do the same for you.”

P.S. Some of the stuffed rodents were so well made that they sold them as toys on Ebay.

My Ethiopian Restaurant

800px-ethiopian_food1.jpg

This is a story about one of the popular traditional restaurants in Addis Abeba Ethiopia.  It’s name is Agelgi.  I used to work there for 5 years as a manager.  I managed 40 employees.  They were from different departments, such as waitress, cooks, stewards, cleaners, guards, and musicians.  the restaurant has a Traditional live band every night except Wednesday the band has dances show from different region of Ethiopia.  People like that.

Our customers are Diplomats and different organization, people from Government offices, Embassies, tourists and group of families.  I used to like my job, it has fun in it and people encourage me on every activities on my work.  I like when people like their meal and the entertainment.  Our Traditional cuisines are very delicious we prepared chicken stew which is very popular one and lamp stew roasted lamp fried fish roasted beef and vegetarian dish.  I always received  very good comments from my customers.  in the service industry the customer satisfaction is the benefit.

I have a funny story that happen one time, one of our customer was drunk, and he asked for the bill the waitress gave him and after few minutes he called the waitress again asked for the bill she told him that she gave it to him, he said I didn’t get it and she went back to the cashier and showed him the copy of the bill he said he didn’t get it, after few minutes he said I need to talk to the manager, so I went to talk to him.  he said that he asked for the bill several times he didn’t get the bill.  He said since you give me the bill, it is on the house I told him we checked the bill the waitress gave it to him.  He was not happy he really got Angry.  we prepared him another bill he paid and left with steel not happy.  After few days one of his friend came, and told us my friend is so Embarrass to come over here because he found the bill in his pocket the second day so he sent an apology to the waitress and he sent a tip for both of us.  So I missed this restaurant because it is closed in October and I came to US on January 27.
